On a recent trip back to her beloved Montréal, mali discovered she preferred to photograph people when they aren’t actually there. Interested in the artifacts that people create, surround themselves with, and leave behind, her images speak just as much about the human subject as do the so-called windows to the soul.

Description : While I was absorbed by the green roof on this highrise in Yaletown, aka The Glass City, I got some cocked eyebrows from residents. All I can say is that people in glass condos built right next to bridges shouldn’t throw dirty looks.

Description : Amidst the mammoth Glass City that otherwise monopolizes the downtown skyline, this curious building with its peeling whale facade harks back to a slower westcoast mentality and serves to remind us of the wide economic gap brought on by rapid development in recent years. As a friend later put it so eloquently : « I love BC and its fake nature [motifs] »
